Understanding Health Insurance
Individual Medical
Insurance
Health insurance for individuals or families can range from very
basic coverages to very inclusive & comprehensive plans. We
offer varying deductibles & co-payment options. We represent
several companies, making it easy to find a health plan to meet
your needs.
Group Health Insurance
Group health insurance is when two or more employees pool together
for their health insurance plan through an employer. Group insurance
can range from very basic coverages to very inclusive & comprehensive
palns. We offer varying deductibles & co-payment options. We
represent several companies, making it easy to find a health plan
to meet your needs.
Temporary Health
Insurance
Temporary health insurance is major medical insurance for people
with temporary needs. Examples of someone who may need temporary
health insurance include:
= Betwen jobs or laid off
= Graduating from college
= Waiting for group coverage
= Dependents falling off parent's
health plan
Your coverage could begin as soon as 24 hours after completing an
application.
Medical Savings Account
Medical Savings Account (MSA) health plans are only available to
self-employed individuals or families. MSA plans combine a high-deductible
major medical insurance plan with a tax- free savings account. Money
into the savings account is used to help pay the major medical deductible.
Once the deductible is met, insurance starts paying. Money left
in the savings account is yours to keep.
Medicare Supplements
(or "Medigap")
A Medicare supplement policy is a health insurance policy sold by
private insurance companies to fill in the "gaps" in original
Medicare coverage. A Medicare Supplement may help you lower your
out-of-pocket health expenses, and get more health insurance coverage.
Each standardized supplement policy must cover basic benefits. Most
policies pay most, if not all of the original Medicare plan coinsurance
and outpatient co-payment amounts. These policies may also cover
the Medicare plan deductibles. Some of the policy plans help pay
for more of those things that Medicare doesn't cover, like prescription
drugs. To buy a Medicare Supplement, you generally must have Medicare
Part A and Part B.
Long-Term Care Insurance
Long-term care is needed by someone who suffers with a long disability,
physical illness, or a mental impairment (i.e. Alzheimer's disease).
Long-term care does not necessarily correct a medical condition,
but helps one live as he or she is now. Long-term care services
may include help with the activities of daily living, home health
care, respite care, adult day care, or care in a nursing home or
assisted living facility. Long-term care insurance can help pay
for some or all of the costs associated with all these types of
care.
You should consider buying Long-Term Care Insurance if:
= You have significant assets and
income,
= You want to protect some of your
assets and income,
= You want to pay for your own care,
and/or
= You want to stay independent of
the support of others.
